Y axis Alignment

Hi all-

Well I followed all the directions for my kit, passed all calibrations, and have run some sample prints.  I will admit that I have some concern over the "cautions" in the assembly manual about overtightening.  Being a mechanical type person, I am used to tightening screws until they can't be tightened anymore, so I was extra careful in keeping things tight but "loose" if you get my meaning.

I've attached some photos of a pencil case I started to print and as you can see, the X axis sides are straight and true, but the Y axis sides are lumpy and bumpy.  I went through this forum and the Help forum and did everything suggested, tightening motor mount screws, making sure pully were tight and not slipping and checking belt tension.  (X axis measured 250, Y axis measured 274).

I don't know if the difference between the 2 axes tension levels could cause this, and I suppose I could reduce the tension on the Y belt, but should I?

I am using Prusa filament which I assume has good tolerances.

Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks-

Larry

Check your pulley mounting grub screws are correctly tightened.

Look about a third of the way down this page:  https://help.prusa3d.com/article/layer-shifting_2020
