XY CRASH DETECTED

Hello I have encountered XY crash detected warnings on my mk3s, can anyone tell me what the most common cause are? I've checked all the top causes it's not hitting the wall behind it, no debris causing it to crash, belts are tight and no loose grub screws, still it persists especially on large flat items that test the edges of the print bed.  my one suspicion is the two cable bundles ( heatbed and print head cable) are sagging and interfering\catching  on each other setting off the crash. Is this a common or known problem? If this could be the case can anyone suggest a reputable cable guide for the two cables in question that may solve this issue? Any and all help is greatly appreciated and thanks to anyone who might help.  Chris

I also have been getting y axis crashes.  I have since, been running in stealth mode for many hours of printing without issues, but keen to hear if anyone has had this problem and how they solved it.

RE: XY CRASH DETECTED

Crash detection is very sensitive. While it detects legitimate issues well, it can be triggered by as little as too much bearing resistance or minor binding. This seems to be especially the case on the Y-axis.

If you have very frequent crash detections, it pays off to observe the printer doing its stuff until it triggers a crash detection and look what, if anything visible has happened. The two cable bundles should not interfere with each other if no screw is loose. Maybe check if the Extruder cable bundle holder at the back is screwed tight and nothing has become loose.

My solution to excessive crash detection has been to simply turn off the feature. (Initially I changed the Y-axis bearings and that resolved the issue, but when the it reappeared a year later again I couldn't be bothered anymore and just turned the detection off)  Haven't had any crash related issues ever since, no damage or anything. The advantage of turning it off is also that you can turn on the stealth mode and make your printer more silent.
