X-axis rods and bearings

So after having this happen during a print, (ran mesh bed leveling to try and recreate the effect) https://forum.prusa3d.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Vid-20191126-003432-1.m4v I came here and found the answer I was looking for in terms of what is going on. My question is with these marks on the x-axis rods, are they still usable? Also do you think the bearings need replaced to or can I just add some oil or lubricant to them? Any help would be much appreciated.

RE: X-axis rods and bearings

Bearing and rods both wear.

If the bearings wear a groove - they are no longer round balls. They are flat... Replace them.

Grooves on the rods are only where the bearing balls hit. As long as you rotate the new bearings slightly

you can get more use out of the rods. I would replace the rods too - but that is just me.

Note: Rod grooves are something you can feel with a finger nail. If they rub off - they are not grooves.

NOTE: Lubricate your new bearings internally with an appropriate grease. Everything will last a lot longer. Keep your rods clean.
