X-Axis noises

Hello everybody,

I have a question. You can hear a noise when printing, as soon as the head moves into the right corner. It is difficult to correctly interpret where it comes from, I would tap something on my head.

In my opinion, that sounds like something is causing a “vibration”, but I'm not sure about that either.

If I print a little slower or diagonally during infill you can hardly hear anything ..

Thanks in advance!

I'm not certain, but you could check your belt tensions, idler alignment, rod smoothness, and bearing conditions.

I changed the idler with a 20 tooth dual bearing and my noise went way down. That said when I changed the idler I went over the entire x-axis installation, which included alignment of the motor gear and belt position on the extruder carriage. When I get a few more hours on the machine I'll repack the bearings so it will remain quiet.  But for now, I do have a significantly quieter printer than yours; however, before I did what I did it was as noisy as yours.

@pcweber

Hey, thanks! :-) Where do you buy the idler and which one?
