X Axis length error on self test
My i3 Mk3S has been running flawlessly for the past 6 months since I built it (apart from an occasional MinTemp error on switch on reported elsewhere)
Last night a print crashed with a terrible birds nest. This has never happened before.
Now it keeps reporting an X axis length error
I tried the recalibration wizard but get the same error
Selftest error:
Please check :
Axis Length
Axis. X
Has anyone any idea what could be wrong? How does it measure the X axis length as there are no limit switches?

Dont know why this posted twice. I diont think It's anything I did. I cant see how to delete one of the posts
RE: X Axis length error on self test
Although my X movement appeared to be smooth I greased the X rails using the supplied grease and it appears to have fixed the problem.
The set up configuration wizard seems to be working now
RE: X Axis length error on self test
My mk3 extruder managed to get blocked and was dis-assemble so that I could remove the blockage, I have done this several times before without any trouble, as my eye sight is not the best I usually move the printer to a place with maximum light, I then put it back in its usual place in my study within a Lack table enclosure I made and calibrate the Z axis followed by a selftest, I also upgraded the software to 3.8.1 before running the tests.
Unfortunately I get "selftest error!" Please check; AXIS length Axis
I have tried every thing suggested in the manual and knowledge base to no avail, I welcome any suggestion as I need to print a breathing valve I designed to so I can check it. It is to be used in Ventilator in COV19 pandemic.

@andy-roussos
Were you able to resolve this issue? If so, would you be kind enough to share the details on how you fixed it? I am facing the same issue now for several weeks while attempting everything from greasing to firmware update to cable bundle re-harnessing without any success. Frustrating, but I do enjoy the challenge.
RE: X Axis length error on self test
I have the same thing. Now won't calibrate. Says it can't find points. Help.
RE: X Axis length error on self test
I was printing flawlessly as well and nothing has actually changed that I can think of to create this problem with the X axis.
RE: X Axis length error on self test
Well, it's possible some of the wires or zip ties coming out of the back of the extruder were hitting the frame on the left or right side during the test and causing the issue. I made sure absolutely nothing was close to hitting the frame and it seemed to have fix the problem. Hopefully this helps someone else out.
