Wierd issue: Printer prints calibration but doesn't print g-code
I'm having an odd issue with my newly built MK3s. I ran the calibration, it passed. It then printed the z height test and I adjusted the z-height to about -0.600. The printer printed the test pattern (the zig-zag line with the 2x2cm test pad) without issue. After that I went to print the prusa logo gcode included on the SD card. That's where the problem started. The printer did it's standard bed-levelling routine, going to the nine points on the bed. After that, it went to X 0, Y 0, then moved across the x axis to the right side of the bed where it then asked for the filament to be changed. I removed the filament that I just used successfully to print the Z-height calibration adjustment then inserted the same filament (the silver filament that comes with the printer) and it again asked to unload and reload the filament. This loop continued until I hit the reset button.
I repeated the z-height calibration and it again printed the test fine, confirming that the extruder wasn't jammed and the sensor was working. It's only when I go to print an actual object (g-code) that I get this error.
What I tried to do to resolve the issue.

None of those steps apply since the calibration print is successful.
I ensured that I wasn't printing the multi-color logo
Updated firmware to the newest. From 3.53 to 3.70 (and then 3.71)
Turned off the filament autoload function.
Power cycled.
Re-ran calibration wizard.
Tried printing my own gcode created from the most current version of Slic3r (Prusa edition) from a known good stl model.
None of these changed the printer's odd behavior. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Turned off the filament autoload function.
Turn off the filament sensor itself, not just the autoload, and see if that fixes it.
I encountered a similar problem and turned off the filament sensor and that fixed it, turned it back on and the loop was back. I blew out and cleaned the sensor and it has been fine since. It could be there is something wrong with the sensor...

Thank you so much! I turned off the filament sensor and lo and behold, I could print! Now to look into the sensor and make sure it's clean and adjusted properly.
What confuses me is that the z-calibration will print with the sensor failing. I guess that the z-calibration routine doesn't invoke the sensor function.
Again, thanks. Will update this once I've fully resolved the issue. At least I can finally start printing with this beast of a printer.

I would be guessing, but you are probably right that the filament sensor is not active during the live z calibration. When it happened to me, I had been rolling along for months, and right after an upgrade in firmware it started happening so there must have been something changed in the firmware to make it happen.
Fortunately, you can still print with it off and if you clean it off by blowing it out it may work again.... Also, as it is a newly assembled printer, you might want to check that it is assembled correctly. If i remember, there was an issue with it sometimes being plugged in incorrectly at the rambo connection and i think they came out with a blocker plug because there were two slots, upper and lower and it needs to be the correct one... Not totally sure, but if you check the assembly instructions for that step I am sure it will be more clear and you could quickly confirm that is not it..
