Why am I getting these blips and blobs on first layer
I'm running a MK3 using Prusament PETG and the default PrusaSlicer settings. I'm getting some small blips and larger blobs of filament deposited intermittantly. At first I thought that on the first layer I was getting just blips, and then on the second layer, the nozzle was kind of picking up the blips, accumulating them, and eventually dropping them as blobs. But as you can see from the first layer picture, I've already got a large blob and the first layer hasn't even finished. When this happens, I have to pause the print and clip off the blob(s) or the extruder will eventually it a cold one and detect a crash (still recoverable). Once things get past layer 2, everything prints perfectly. No more blips, no more blobs. Any idea why this is happening? It also happens with other Prusament (PLA). The printer didn't used to do this. Thanks

Two thoughts: From the waves in your first layer, it seems your nozzle is too low. If it's too low, it can dig into the filament, scoop up some of it, and then drop it off elsewhere. So I'd go a bit less negative with my Live Z until you have a good first layer.
Another common cause for dripping filament is an incorrectly assembled hotend, with filament oozing out between heat break and heater block.

I'll try playing with the Live Z. I have had to adjust it recently so maybe I do have it too close.
I don't believe it's a hot-end issue - I've had the printer almost 5 years with no such problems before, so that leads me to think your first suggestion is probably the answer.
