Where is PINDA status on the LCD menu?
The MK3 manual says:
Starting with firmware 3.4.0, you can check the status of the P.I.N.D.A. probe in LCD Menu - Settings - PINDA status.
I've looked under Settings, and elsewhere in the LCD menu, and can't find an entry for PINDA Status. In fact I just updated the firmware from 3.8.x to 3.9.1-3518 and the results are the same. Is it there somewhere?

Thanks. Under Support > Sensor Info it says: PINDA: 0
I'm not sure what that means. Is "0" (zero) a designation for a functional state? Or is that a height measurement?
The reason I'm looking is that I just readjusted the PINDA height (with the nozzle gently on the bed, the PINDA is the width of a zip-tie above that). I'm hoping to find the numeric value for the height.

It’s a functional indication, it will be 0 or 1 depending on if it detects metal. If you hold something metal near the pinda sensor you should see the led on the sensor itself change state and at the same time the lcd state should change.
it does not measure height, it changes state in the presence of metal. So it will functionally change when it gets to the same distance away from the steel bed. Assuming the temperature is constant as it is temp sensitive. That’s what the live z adjust is for. To take out the variance and to lower it past the point when it detects.
If it could detect an actual distance then you wouldn’t need to set the z it could do it for you.

Thanks. I put my metal spatula just underneath the PINDA, and indeed the menu shows the state changing on 0 to 1.
What I'm trying to do is this: Somewhere I read that the PINDA height should be in a certain range (I think it was 0.4 to 1 mm, or something like that). Is there somewhere I can verify the PINDA height (as a numeric value) after I adjusted it using the zip-tie method?

Not really; as long as it is higher than the nozzle by roughly that amount you can adjust out the rest of it via the live Z adjust.
So long as your live Z adjust value is not too close to 0 (e.g. <-0.300) or far (>-1.2) it's fine.
At the lower end you run the risk of it hitting curling prints, at the higher end the accuracy starts to decrease once you get closer to its detection limit around 2mm.

FWIW - you can view the PINDA temp under the Support->Temperatures menu on the printer.
