Uneven surface of second and third layer

Hey everyone.

I am new to 3d printing comunity, and I have an issue with the surface of the second and third layer. The first layer was OK. Do you have an idea what happened? I tryed to clean the nozzle with cold pull, but it not helped. I am using a clone mk3s printer and prusament filament. The gcode was generated with Prusa Slicer.

Please save your project as a .3mf file

Files > Save Project as

Zip the .3mf and post it here. It will contain both your part and your settings for us to diagnose.

RE:

Looks possibly like underextrusion.  Could be too fast, or possibly the nozzle is not hot enough.

The printer speeds up after the first layer, which would coincide with the start of your issues.

Those layers also look really thick.  What layer height are you using?

As Diem said: post you project (zipped).

Take a few pictures of your printer, especally the hotend and post them.

Is this a new problem? Meaning: Did the printer print ok before or is it like this since you got it?

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

RE: Uneven surface of second and third layer

Hello everyone,

Thank you all for your replies. I really appreciate your help. 🙂

I am using the default settings for the Prusament PETG (with minor changes of the temperature and extrusion flow rate) and the default settings for MK3S printer with no changes in PrusaSlicer. I had no issues with PLA, but when I started to print with PETG, then this issue occurred. The final visual look of the printed item looks quite good because this issue is only at internal layers. The top layer is almost perfect. I will upload the project and some photos later.

Minor changes of temperature and extrusion flow rate?

@robin Yes, I was trying to fix this issue with changing the nozzle temperature +/- 5C and the extrusion multiplier (not flow rate, sorry) from 1 to 1.1. but it didn't help. Today I changed the nozzle and reset to default the filament setting to Prusament PETG, but at the second and third layer, then i tried an other print there was still the same issue.

I am sending the zip with the my previous and today's print files.

@brian-12 I tired to incease the hotent temperature, but it had no impact to the quality, then I reduced the print speed from 100% to 70% and it fixed the issue. It looks like the speed of solid infill is too fast. It means that possibly I can fix it with changing the default value of the solid infill speed from 80 to 60 mm/s
