Uneven horizontal lines

Hi,

Recently I've been battling with uneven lines/layers in prints which results in an uneven finish and some very slight layer shifting. You can see what I mean in the attached picture. I've recalibrated the X and Y belts using the 90hz PanoTuner technique to confirm they are in a good standing.

This mainly seems to be an issue when there's both X and Y axis movement during a layer. For instance, printing a cube yields a good result since just one axis will be moving. Whereas, with this attached print that is a octagonal WDT tool for coffee brewing, it begins to present uneven lines.

Best Answer by Colin M:

The issue turned out to be the Y axis pulley which was too close to the motor. I loosened the grub screws and moved it out a few millimeters.

3MF also attached.

I'd be very interested in understanding this problem a bit better, if anybody would be willing to help with the diagnosis.

It seems I can't upload the 3MF as it doesn't appear on this message when attaching a file. It is below the 10MB limit.

Facepalm moment, thank you.

3MF attached.

I'm wondering if this is the same issue that I'm experiencing. Fundamentally, the problem comes down to belts, whether it's tension or grub screw/motor related. I'll give it another series of troubleshooting steps tomorrow with the PETG belt tensioner as well as double checking the grub screws etc. https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3s-mk3-hardware-firmware-and-software-help/banding-ringing-on-prints/#post-618121

I think you've diagnosed it yourself - that looks like a belt issue to me.

Cheerio,
