uncontrolled movements of the stepper motors
Software version prusa3d_fw_3_8_1_MK3.
Reproducing Problems
1. Powering mk3 up and inserting SD Card.
2. navigate trough directory of SD Card.
3. When reaching Directoy
\3D-Druck\Modelle\Martin\pet\trax
the steper motors are starting to move uncontrolled.
The problem can be reproduced on my system. The problem seems to be the lenth of the path or the number of subdirectories.
Has anybody the same Problem?
RE: uncontrolled movements of the stepper motors
The problem still exists. I have attached a problematic directory tree.
1. This file has no problem: \1\2\3\4\MasterSpool_V4_002_Export3_PARTA_RTP-pet.gcode
2. This file location is problematic \1\2\3\4\5\MasterSpool_V4_002_Export3_PARTA_RTP-pet.gcode
Can somebody try to select the second file for print on mk3. Is the problem reproducable?
Thanks for your reply!
New try with smaller files
Upload with the last post failed due to file size. Now with smaller files.
Here is the zip file with the directory structure.
RE: uncontrolled movements of the stepper motors
Iiiinteresting. I'll take a look
RE: uncontrolled movements of the stepper motors
I could not reproduce it on my Mk3S. Either there's something about your particular combo of hardware or it's already been fixed in 3.9.0-RC
RE: uncontrolled movements of the stepper motors
@vitagepc thanks for your try. I investigated the problem a little bit deeper. I tried to fix the problem with the following steps:
- Reformatted SD Card. -> problem exists
- rewirtten Firmware 3.8.1 -> problem exists
- downgrade to Firmware 3.7.2 -> problem resolved
@prusa development
There might be a bug in your memory management.
If there is somone with MK3 and Firmware 3.8.1 please try to reproduce the Problem.
RE: uncontrolled movements of the stepper motors
If you think you have a firmware bug then please report it on https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/issues and include all the detail you have so far.
The devs only occasionally go on the forums and github is the place to report issues if you think you have one.
