TMC DRIVER OVERTEMP after fw upgrade
Yesterday I upgraded my MK3 to the newest firmware 3.6.0, printed a calibration cube everything was fine. Today I wanted to print a PETG part and I got a TMC DRIVER OVERTEMP Error pretty early in the print. So I checked everything and retried printing the part, I got the same error but abit later in the print.
Anyone can help whats causing this, never had this issue before.

Hey my one did the same thing tonight, error "TMC DRIVER OVERTEMP ERROR. I just updated to the build 3.7.0 RC1 a couple of days ago. Hopefully its just firmware and nothing is damaged

Really odd this is happening.
They have not changed motor current levels, PWM_GRAD, nor PWM_AMP in the firmware.
Nothing I can see in the firmware should have changed power draw and heat dissipation for the motors.
Are the axes free of motion resistance that would increase current demand?
Is power supply voltage on the affected printers at a lower than normal level?
What are the voltages being reported in support during printing?
If those are below 23.8, I would adjust voltage potentiometer in power supply upward.
Are EINSY power connectors secure?

Thanks for your response. I know l'm just as weird with it as you. This printer has been running smooth since l got it. The only difference l did was print in ABS and use the lack table enclosure. The print failed after say 10 minutes and the internal temp of the enclosure got to 35 degrees. It end up happening two times in a row

Perhaps the ABS printing is getting ambient up to a higher temp now that weather is warming. If the TMC2130's were near thermal max, a hotter enclosure will push them over the 120C threashold.
For my 0.9 degree motor testing (which does load things more heavily), adding heatsinks to the thermal via side of the EINCY PC board helps keep the TMC2130's cooler.

The problem has less directly to do with the TMC, but rather with the changed heating bed control (PWM) and the responsible transistor The TMC measures only the temperature.

To fix this issue I use a 40mm Noctua fan at the Einsy case.

So additional heat load in EINSY due to new heatbed PWM system is heating up the TMC2130's as a side effect.

No. I wish I did have one.
FET and capacitor switching losses large enough to blow the cap and overheat other chips when heating the bed hot enough for ABS means the new heating mechanism runs at thermal limits. That's not going to be good for EINSY lifespan even if one stays away from higher temp materials.
