Tip of filament breaks off and gets stuck frequently in heat break just below the PTFE guide
I am having an issue lately where a blob of filament breaks off and gets stuck in the heat break or just below the PTFE guide just above the heat break. Happens to PETG and PLA. Makes it impossible to use the MMU right now. I have replace the PTFE guide once. Done a cold pull with Nylon filament. IS anyone else having this issue and fixed it? I have had the Prusa MK3 and MMU since they came out and they work well. Don't know why all of a sudden I am having this issue.
Have you tried drying the filament?
Cheerio,

Have you tried drying the filament?
Cheerio,
All of my filament is in dry boxes with descant (color changing when it gets saturated) and I have food drying I used to dry filament. I don't think that is my problem.
Try it. Steam generation causes foaming expansion and can weaken thin sections both of which might contribute to your issue.
Cheerio,
What changed? The season changed.
What worked in the summer will fail in the cold wet humidity of winter. I'm confident that moist filament is brittle filament. Very brittle.

Humidity is lower in the winter than it is in summer because cold air holds less moisture than hot air so if the filament was wet I would see this problem in the summer more than in the winter. Plus I live in California and we are currently in a drought so no rain to speak of. All my filament is in dry boxes with color changing descant. I dry the descant when it changes color. I don't think the problem is the filament being wet.

You can debate yourself, your filament is moist.
If you think it's something else, try that.
