Thermal Runaway / Heatup Error
Hi there everyone! I'd been having fun with my Prusa for about a week, when I started getting thermal runaway errors in the middle of prints. These errors have been getting more and more common, and I can't even finish a preheat to 215 degrees without a failure, but the temperature it fails at is random. At first, it was just the extruder/hotend failing, but today, the heated bed started failing too. It seems that the hotend and bed fail at different times as shown in this video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/seH6XKrWCWJzXvQS2 (wouldn't let me attach the video).
When watching the video, note how the light in the upper left turns off right as it fails, and the hotend failed a few seconds before that. Also, the LED on the bed flickered a bit when turning on, but I don't know if that has anything to do with the problem. I have also noticed the lights next to the connectors on the Einsy go out right as the heating cuts out. Another weird thing is that the longer I keep the power supply switched off after a cutout, the longer the heating will last. I've also heard clicking coming from somewhere on the printer at times, but I haven't been able to deduce where it's coming from or where it's happening (although I'm fairly certain it's not coming from the steppers).
I have read the knowledge base article about thermal runaway https://help.prusa3d.com/l/en/article/aicptwdn3b-thermal-runaway , and nothing on that page worked for me. I've checked the connections over and over again, and it doesn't look like there's a problem with the connections. I personally suspect that either the PSU or the Einsy are faulty, but I don't want to order new parts until I'm sure because they're expensive ($90 for the PSA and $120 for the Einsy)
Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Re: Thermal Runaway / Heatup Error
Hi Nick,
I have the same issue, (see post https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/hardware-firmware-and-software-help-f64/an-other-thermal-runaway-problem-bed-and-hotend--t17633.html ) and actually i'm making some test to find the origin of problem.
Perhaps if you heard some click from PSU it could be a sign of bad Power line, or issue in the PSU itself (i think about the power panic relay).
Myself, i atualy never anything.
you could try to disconnect the PSU power panic and make a test ...

Have you tried to make a PID calibration?
The "Calibration / PID calibration" menu.
Bear MK3 with Bondtech extruder
Re: Thermal Runaway / Heatup Error
Try only pre-heating the nozzle, and not the heat bed.
Hi, I'm Sean. I used to work on CNC machines.
I try to not make mistakes, but the decision is YOURS.
