MK3 Bridge and Support Settings in Simplify3D

Hy there,

I am trying to print a part on my MK3 that needs support, but on some places needs to Bridge for like 2 to 4 cm. But first i am not able to create proper support that is going to be removed without ruining the surface completely, and second i am not able to adjust good bride settings.

I am using Prusa Silver PLA.
Has anyone some settings for me please?

Re: MK3 Bridge and Support Settings in Simplify3D

My S3D Bridge Settings, not perfect but way better than default.

Unsupported area Threshold: 20,00 <--- quite depends on your object. Make it so, that you only bridge stuff you really want to bridge
Extra inflation distance: 1 mm (<--- if base speed is too high, the bridges tend to miss start and end points, so I made it a bit longer)
Bridge extrusion multi: 90% (<--- my base extrusion multiplier is also down to 94% for PLA so if you have your base at 1 you may want to try even lower)
speed multipier: 30% (<--- works good with base speed at around 3600 - 4600)
[] used fixed angle <--- depends on the object and the bridge. look at the sliced model and try to figure our the best angle
[X] apply bridging to perimeters

And a starting tip for you: Look at your outer two perimeters of your bridge. By default "[X] apply bridging to perimeters" is turned off. So outer perimeteres will be printed with standard settings. If your outer perimeters look ok but the inner perimenters (that used the "bridge" settings) are bad, try to figure you why. (speed settings for outer perimeters and base extrusion rate)

hope that helps.

Thank you very much darKing! I am going to give this a try tomorrow and will come back and post results!

My default PLA Speed is 9000 mm/min. This was the Prusa S3D Profile. Did you turn it down that much?

Im using the default MK3 profile from S3D (not the one from prusa). That has quite different numbers but is faster overall in many occasions.
