Thermal Runaway error and then smoke came out from the nozzle

Hello, I have been using i3MK3S for about three years and upgraded to i3MK3S+ and Revo 6 nozzle when they came out. No major issue but today, after printing for about two hours, I noticed that the printer stopped printing. The LCD screen indicated "Thermal Runaway". I pressed the restart button to restart the machine and started a new print job all over again. During heating, I saw a ball of PLA on the smooth PEI sheet and noticed that the extruder started releasing smoke and smelled very bad. Never seen that before. Since it looked like it could cause a fire hazard, I immediately unplug the power. What happened? If I did not do anything, would it cause fire? What should I do next to get the machine working again?

RE:

I would say a faulty thermistor, reporting a bad temperature ? I had this problem recently (on a V6 system)

I unplugged the hotend thermistor cable from the circuit board and measured the resistance across the two pins of the connector cable. It is 97.1K Ohm.

When I turned on the machine, the Nozzle temperature is 21C while the bed temperature is 25C.

It was also my case. But at high temperature, the returned value was wrong. If you use Octoprint, you could notice this temperature drift (It's a hypothesis...)

The ambient temperature in the room is 25C.

Any Revo 6 user has Thermal Runaway error and then smoke coming out from the nozzle?

From settings, I tested temperatures from 30C to 210C in steps of 30C. It could reach the specific temperature as usual. At 240C, however, the nozzle temperature jumped from 231 to 248C. Turned off the machine and started again to test at target temperature 250C. When the nozzle temperature increased up to 175C, it started to drop by itself! It is as if I issued a Cooldown command but I didn't.

Prusa Support agent asked me to wriggle the two cables from the hotend but I didn't see any noticeable change in behavior. She thinks that it is problem with the E3D Rev06 hotend.

Any Revo 6 user has this issue?
