Thermal Anomaly after possibly shorting board
Hi, while cleaning the nozzle I think I shorted one of the wires. Either the hotend thermistor or heating cartridge, after which I got a mintemp error. After inspecting the board for physical damage I could not find any so I bought a new thermistor (as the port seemed fine). No error anymore when starting the printer, YES! Atleast I thought. Now when trying to either print or perform a thermal calibration the printer stops and gives a thermal anomaly error around 190-200C. All ports have 5V, but something is just not right. The hotend starts smoking slightly which means the PLA is at least 260C which is not what my thermistor shows. Both hotend and heatbed thermistors show the same or similar temperatures when starting a print. How do I fix this without hopefully buying a new einsy board. How old is printer Try replace heater cartridge as that would be the thing that sparked is the thermistor reading room temperature correct

This could, potentially, be dangerous. If you have a multimeter check the resistance of your thermistor, then warm it a little with a heat gun or hairdryer and check the resistance again.

Both the heater cartridge and the thermistor itself are within the rated resistances (just checked) after warming the thermistor it did show a change, but not sure what to make of it. As far as I can tell the thermistor and heater should both be working correctly. My printer is around 2y old and I know its dangerous that is why I'm seeking help. Prusa support told me to change the thermistor, however since its new and showing the correct resistance I'm hesitant that this would solve the issue (it is already a new thermistor)
OK, go back to Prusa Support with the measured values. A video of the smoking hotend might help convince them as might an external temperature reading if you can get one.
