Temperature fluctuation with PT100
Hi there,
I assembled my kit and changed the standard e3d nozzle and hotend combo by a new e3d v6 combo with 40w heater cartridge and a OT100 sensor. I updated the Configuration_prusa.h file to uncommented the "#define E3D_PT100_EXTRUDER_NO_AMP".
When I preheat the nozzle, you can see that the temp increases steadily, then at 145° C it then jumps to 215°-220°... then it fluktuates between 150-220°, whch of course can only be mis-measurement. Then I start the PID autotune via M303 E0 S220 C8 and the temp stays around 220° (pre-set).
Why is that? This strange fluctuation is really weid.
Thanks in advance,
Michael

For the record and to answer the question in case anyone is interested in the future:
I have connected the amplifier board and after some switching cables to test how to connect, it now works extrenmely accurate.

Re: Temperature fluctuation with PT100
I just ordered the E3D kit and was wondering if you could tell me where you hooked up the +5V connection from the amplifier board on the Einsy? Can you just use the J7 header? Somewhere better? I'm assuming you also went with the #define E3D_PT100_EXTRUDER_WITH_AMP in the firmware. I'd appreciate it if you could could save me some time fumbling around.
Thanks!
Lars
Re: Temperature fluctuation with PT100
I would also like to know where you grabbed the 5v from, thanks.
Re: Temperature fluctuation with PT100
Use J7 on the board. It is near the top - slightly above the pinder connector and to the left - just below the reset button and next to the 6 bare pins. It is labelled but a little tricky to read, the +ve if I recall correctly is the uppermost pin - but check to make sure.
