Stringing on first layer calibration

I'm still struggling to get my i3mk3s+ to get anything to print. I think I have my z-axis calibrated but I'm still seeing odd stringing and peeling on the left side. And filament leaks from the nozzle when idle. I've tightened the belt tensions, confirmed the idler tension, and tightened everything else that felt lose. I was hoping I didn't have to tear down my hot end. Any thoughts?

Is this a second user machine?  This is typical of the sort of problems we saw five or six years ago ... you may find some old threads useful.

The pictures aren't quite clear enough to be certain but your first layer is probably in the useable range, I might go a fraction lower, a little more squish, to give the nozzle a bit more wear time before needing to recalibrate.  Expect to have to recalibrate Z every few months as your nozzle wears and to replace it in 6 - 12 months depending on your useage.

Clean your build sheet.  The poor adhesion is typical of fingerprint residue and of incomplete cleaning - there are many threads here about the topic.

And the stringiness - again the pictures are not quite clear enough but drying your filament is almost certain to help.

Cheerio,
