Strange single layer shift.

I've had a weird problem with my last overnight print. One of the layers shifted in Y direction by exactly 12mm. All layers before and after (4 more hours) printed great.

This is printing with pla on default "prusament pla" preset with bed temp lowered to 55. In a tent, but open so temperatures are in the region of 25C inside. I can't really post the 3mf because the part design is not public. However I printed many times with the same settings with no issue.

This was on standard preset for 0.1mm detail with following changes:

Individual parts on (they are very low so didn't catch)

Support xy separation 75%, 4 layers, z distance 0.25.

I did check belt numbers (285 and 260), pulleys, free movement etc,but if this is a mechanism fault I would expect subsequent layers to be shifted and the shift to not be exactly 12mm.

Does this look like a firmware bug? I am running fairly old firmware(3.8.1-2869). Was there a bug that could cause it?

No.

Same part?

and the shift to not be exactly 12mm.

Nothing magic about that number. If it had been 11.84, why would that be less significant?

If belts are okay, grub screws tight (and yes, if those were the culprits, you are likely to see other shifts), I suspect the nozzle got caught on infill or a curling perimeter. 3D printing is everything but precise science. I'd print it again and see what happens.
