Strange Noise

Hello All,

I received my Prusa MK3S Kit a few weeks ago and after a seemingly successful assembly, I have been printing away almost constantly. Just this evening, I came to check on a print and noticed some very strange noises coming from the printer - they are changing pitch depending on how far away the extruder assembly is from the X-axis motor.

After reading on the forum, I checked to see if the belts were rubbing on the frame and they don't appear to be.

Here is a video with the noise: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ayPWHpei7sQ5gg5V6

So far, the model doesn't look bad.

Has anyone seen this type of thing before? Thanks!

RE: Strange Noise

If you mean the sound that sounds like music then it is because all the motors are working simultaneously and causing this. It occurs mainly in curved or round shapes. I think Prusa has mentioned that even the magnets in the bed can cause noise.

@rhdreambox

Thanks for the quick reply! The noise did go away on subsequent prints and it's just nice to know that it's normal!
