Stopping a Print

Does anyone else have massive problems with their printer if they try to stop a print?

I have an MMU2s  but generally just use it with a single filament at a time.

When you do that thing where you notice the first layer is not sticking and hit stop all heck breaks loose.  Sometimes the filament unloads and then tries to load the next filament.  Nothing will stop this if there is no filament in that spot and you have to reboot,  at which point it tries to restart the print.  In the end the only way I have been able to recover all this is to turn everything off for 10 mins and start again.

Shouldn't stop print be easier than this?

My printer stops if I tell it to stop.  Your printer is much more fo a challenge.

Are you hitting the reset X button or are you going into the menu and selecting stop print ?  Hitting the reset is more of an emergency stop and it can act more like a power cut when it resets.  You are basically rebooting the board.  Going into the menu and commanding a stop is a more graceful way of doing it and the print does not try and recover when done the proper way.
