Source of the grinding noise?
Can you gents help me identify the source of the grinding noise? Linear bearing with square balls? Pity because is a 6 hours old printer, purchased assembled, this is the first print on it

Just a wild guess - could it be the fan shroud touching the top layer of print...

Nope, the shroud is way above the the printed part, must be a linear bearing, but just wonder how the guys at the quality control let that slipping through, as I bought the printer assembled

Does the sound show up all the time? Or maybe it starts with the second layer?
It could be that the first layer is too close to the bed, which creates ridges that the nozzle can drag on in subsequent layers.
It doesn't sound like bearing noise imho, but if you wanted to check, you could change the fill angle to 0deg so that it's only moving in X or Y and see if the noise only presents itself in one axis. Odds of both sets of bearings exhibiting the strange noise are slim.

wild guess, but may check that all the screws in the extrusion parts (front and back plate) are tight. One of mine was loose and it sounded like that.
If this is an too easy source, bearings are always a good start. If you feel play in the carriage, try switching the bearings and rods in different positions and find the combination where the play cancels each other best.
