Sorting files during printing
I have this weird issue with my mk3s, only with some prints, and not even sure it is reproducible with the same gcode, after printing first border of the brim, the printer stops and starts sorting files. Usually, this is not a problem as the printer just continues afterwards. But if you have a bit of oozing and you're trying to print without a brim, it will definitely affect the print.
I believe it must be some kind of bug because I see no reason at all to start sorting files after the print has started. Did anyone else have this issue?
I am running firmware 3.8.1
RE: Sorting files during printing
sounds like a flaky SD card connection and the printer thinks the card is being removed and reinserted.
RE: Sorting files during printing
it's just strange it always happens just after the print has started. But of course it could be a hardware issue... :-/
RE: Sorting files during printing
Did you ever figure out the cause behind this? I am now experiencing this as well.
RE: Sorting files during printing
Having this issue as well.. after 5 hours of printing, I was around 70% of the print.. the printer (mk3s+) stopped printing and 'sorting files'.. I can't keep printing from when it stopped, so now 5 hours and filament wasted for that.. and now I'm worried that can happen again, and I will just keep wasting time and filament..
RE: Sorting files during printing
Hey, i didn't find the exact cause to this, but I did find a quick fix, it happens when there are too many files on the sd card, empty out the card once in a while and you will be fine.
Mine always does it in the first layer though.
RE: Sorting files during printing
Will try.. hope it fixes the problem, because to me doesn't happen at the first layer 🙁 its 1 day I'm trying to do one particular print (a deer), been having problems of stringing.. now the the model was printing pretty well, and after 5 hours (was missing only the last 20/30 layers), sorting files..
RE: Sorting files during printing
you can also create a different directory on the card. that will take care of the problem as well. as long as its not a physical problem with the card slot.
