Something better than the spiral wrap for cables?

I bought my MK3 pre-assembled but have had to take the cabling apart for a couple of issues now. Getting it back into shape is frustrating. I'm wondering if anyone has found a better alternative... Maybe we could print something with a stiff component to hold it up at the EINSY end and a living hinge or some kind of linked components for the more mobile parts?

3d printed cable chian is an option - see this for the mk2s https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2311596 . Not sure if someone's made it for the mk3 yet. It's also not that much easier to take apart, so moot point.
I've found zip ties can work, but not for long periods of time. Too sketch.

I saw a forum member's recommendation for Techflex Flexo PET Braided Cable Sleeve in the Braided Loom Pics topic. One quarter inch and 3/8 inch. I am awaiting an order as I currently need to rebuild my printer. Fortunately, my printer sent in kit form and I have the experience of having put it together; once.

I wonder about your statement of having bought a pre-assembled MK3 and having to take the cabling apart for a couple of issues now.

Might you care to elaborate on the reasons for needing to dis-assemble your printer and the length of time between purchase and when these overhauls were needed?

I like mine a lot.
using this carriage mount:

with the enclosure, heatbed connector and links from the mk2:

will be adding disconnects for everything soon to make disassembly easier.

Since you asked 🙂 I've had the printer for about six weeks. After two weeks the print fan died due to the cable having been pinched in assembly. While figuring this out I had to unwrap portions of the cable a couple of times and I never quite got it back into the original configuration wrapped and supported properly (I'm sure I can with more effort, but... that's what lead me to ask about alternatives). This week my PSU died so I'll have to un-zip-tie those cables now to replace it. I've also had numerous smaller issues including that the assembler never set the height of the PINDA probe - it was off by like 2mm - and due to its threading digging into the plastic it was not easy to adjust. Before dying the PSU had the horrible rattling issue, necessitating threading filament into the vents to quiet it (which never fully worked).

TLDR - I am sympathetic to the company and I know that they are under pressure to ship, but I would not order a pre-assembled machine from Prusa again. I'd build it from the kit or look elsewhere.

This is really cool! Where will the disconnects go?

Full set for the MK3 here. Remember that the MK3 has a new heatbed connector which is different than the MK2.

very cool, wish that had been out when I made them. The old heatbed connector "works", but its definitely not a perfect fit.

no idea if you are in the US or not, I posted up pix of my braided loom in the thread linked above, i used electroduct self closing 1/4 and 3/8"
[*]1/4" https://www.amazon.com/Hook-Self-Closing-Braided-Sleeving/dp/B00QSH0F5O/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1525413760&sr=8-1-fkmr1&keywords=self%2Bclosing%2Bbraided%2Bloom&th=1
[*]3/8" https://www.amazon.com/Hook-Self-Closing-Braided-Sleeving/dp/B00QSH0MHU/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1525413760&sr=8-1-fkmr1&keywords=self%2Bclosing%2Bbraided%2Bloom&th=1

you will have probably 8 feet or so left over of each.
