Slic3r PE 1.41.3+ Not showing supports

Hello,
I'm using a iMac running 10.14.2 and the lastest stable release of Slic3r PE. So I have two questions.

1. As you can see in the GIF when I create my load generic it isn't rotated in the same direction as my object. Is there anyway I can rotate the modifier? it is always rotated wrong no matter how I rotate my part or even if I leave it alone.

2. I want to see what the supports it is creating, and when I click on preview everything just disappears. Can someone help me out here?

Thank you,

The object is yellow, which means that Slic3r is not happy with it. I'm not sure why, but when you go to Preview and see nothing you know that Slic3r has not sliced the object.
Why not rotate the object so the flat open rectangle is on the bed and the arch is at the top? Then it might not need supports at all.

Thank you for replying. I have turned that piece the way you desribed but that was just an example. I have other pieces that do the same thing. It is wierd why it is yellow and i will have to look into it more. I'm using Fusion 360 to make my models and then saving out as a stl. I'm new to all of this so should I slice my object first?

Ok, so I figured out how to get the preview. I had to select the object and click Slice now, and then I was able to see it.

Thanks,

Add the generic before rotating the object, they should then rotate together and stay aligned.

FYI, the alpha versions of Slic3r PE have auto-slicing as an option to turn on, so when 1.42 is released it should have it. (I'm glad it can turn on and off. It is useful on simple objects, but I find myself turning it off for complex models, especially when making lots of small changes to avoid the lag.)

I thought yellow was just an object not selected. I thought blue was indicating a problem with an object. (I don't have Slic3r installed on this computer so I can't verify right now.)

Oops. You are right, when there is more than one object on the screen, the "selected" one is green and the yellow one is not selected.

Thank you everyone for answering and helping me. I would try the alpha version but not really sure how to compile it so might just wait.

Thanks again.

No need to compile it. Download it from https://github.com/prusa3d/slic3r/releases which is the link that shows up in the slic3r PE help menu.
