Slic3r Manifold

When exporting gcode, it shows Manifold (typically says YES here), but occasionally it says AUTO REPAIRED (xxx errors). Some it even locks up or hangs and can't finish creating the gcode file. So, what does this mean when it shows the errors? It was just a simple flat piece but the manifold said auto repaired 586 errors. Just trying to get a better understanding for what this means and if there's anything I can do with the file to eliminate those errors or if its just how the file was done. Thanks.

Re: Slic3r Manifold

The errors mean there are unconnected or misconnected vectors in the model you are importing. Manifold means the model is "watertight" and there are no places where water would escape a given shell. Non-manifold means the surface of the model isn't really a solid so the slicer can have problems knowing what is an outside surface versus an inside surface. Also, multiple interconnecting shells in a model can also cause serious slice problems.
