Slic3r crashes

Hello,

my Slic3r PE crashes while preparing the print.

I have a model of some hailstones I want to print out. To do that I import the stl file, rotate them and cut it in half. My plan is to place 7 different models (14 parts) on the plate and print them all together.
But Slic3r PE crashes while doing that sooner or later (1 or 2 models are working but not more).

I use the latest version of the program, own i7 CPU and 16GB of RAM but no separate GPU card.

Is it an error of the Software do I need more RAM or a better GPU?

Any help is appreciated

Christian

Re: Slic3r crashes

Often, when a part has multiple shells, or will have multiple shells after a cut, Slic3r PE can have a hard time closing the holes. This is actually a problem for many tools used for FDM models. Try using a different tool to make the cut; Meshmixer, NetFabb, etc.

Re: Slic3r crashes

The model cut function was fixed (at least to the extent to be stable, to not crash Slic3r) in the 1.42.0-alpha7 release
