Sheared nozzle

I heated the nozzle to 285 as per instructions. I held the heat block with channel grips (quite immovably) after slightly unscrewing the heat block. I then attempted to unbolt the nozzle and it sheared right off.

A) Why? It was hot for a good 5-10 minutes while I looked for my channel locks. Anything that needed heating up around it was plenty hot.

B) How do I remove the remaining portion of the nozzle?

C) After I replace the nozzle with the hardened steel one, assuming I have to remove it in the future, how do I keep this from happening again? One ASSUMES the hardened nozzle won't have the same issues with shearing, but honestly, I've come to question the Prusa concept of hardened after having to deal with their set screws.

I also managed, it looks like, to cut a thermistor connection. But THAT, at least, is an easy fix. Or it should be.

I use Copper slip, high temperature lubricant on my nozzles to prevent jamming in the future, have you considered this?

you only need a tiny bit of copper slip. and you should put paper over the build plate, to catch the first waste filament after the change, as you don't want copperslip on your buildplate

I checked the temp while I was working, and it dropped to about 260, so I bumped it up a bit to make sure it stayed around 285, which is where it was when I tried to unscrew.

I have some copper grease anti-seize compound here, so will definitely use that. Thanks for the tip.

There is the possibility that the pliers you used may have cause the nozzle to become egg shape,causing the thread part to jam up.
You may be able to use at tool called an easy out to remove the balance of the nozzle.
