Screen Flashes random numbers and letters. Print stops with no errors.

Recently my MK3S stopped at around 90% of a print. There were no errors and the screen went back to the home screen. So I started a new print and it stopped within the first few minutes. I have now tried about 5 or 6 more prints with same results.

I noticed a few minutes before the print stops that the screen will display a full screen of random numbers and letter. Also where temperature symbol for the hot end, numbers and letters will show up around the same time.

The printer stops in place.

I have reformatted the SD card

Checked the wires

unplugged the power for several minutes and plugged it back.

Have you replaced the firmware? If you did, you need to do a factory reset and clear EEProm.

Then you would need to go through setup again.

If that does not fix it - contact Support on Chat.

Go to EShop, log in, and Chat button will be in lower right.

No I have only had the printer for a month. So haven't changed the firmware.
I will try the chat and have also sent an email to customer service. Just wanted to see if anyone had a fixin here.

If I were to hazard a guess - I would suspect the PSU.

By all means chat with Support.

Just an update. I have chatted with a few Prusa representatives. So I tried reinstalling the firmware which didn't work. I unplugged the panic cable which is the small black and white cable didn't work. Next it was recommended to do a factory reset and inspect the LCD cables. I'm in the process of doing the factory reset now. When I inspected the LCD cables I found in the back as the LCD cable goes under the print bed one of the LCD cables was sticking up high enough to be rubbed by the print bed as it moves back. I secured it to where that shouldn't be an issue. I will update once I get a resolution.

It has made it longer than it did previously. So if you don't see any other updates from me then it was most likely the LCD cables getting rubbed by the print bed causing the issue. So if you run into the issues that I had, I would first check the LCD cables and make sure they are not getting rubbed and if that doesn't work do the factory reset on it. The support from the Prusa staff was great, they were very polite and patient. If I have another similar failure I will update this.

Here is the link for doing the factory reset:  https://help.prusa3d.com/article/SYvbQ66IXF-factory-reset?code=400&failed=1&reason=Multilingual+is+not+enabled+on+this+account

Check the abrasion area carefully. If only the insulation is damaged, hit it with a little silicone rubber.

If the wire itself is abraded - replace the cable. I have never wanted to try patching flat cable.

If you are really lucky - the cable was only picking up noise as the carriage passed over.

It appears that it rubbed some of the insulation off. Can see a little spot where the wire is showing. It has ran for almost 24 hrs with no issue since I zip tied the cable lower. If I get anymore errors I will be replacing the cable. Thanks for answering my post. I appreciate the insight.
