Scaling objects in PrusaSlicer

Just had the i3 printer a few days so I may be missing something, but....

After adding one object into PrusaSlicer, then adding further instances of the same object, Is it possible to then scale the individual instances independantly? At the moment, when I scale one object PrusaSlicer applies that to every object instance, regardless of whether I use World Coordinates or Local Coordinates.

RE: Scaling objects in PrusaSlicer

Based on some casual experience:

  • If you drag an STL file onto the bed in PrusaSlicer, right-click on it and select Increase Copies, the parts are linked. If you re-scale one, the others will be resized. Other operations seem to be linked, including placement on the print surface, but rotation and movement are independent even among linked parts.
  • If you simply drag the same STL file onto the bed a second time, they are independent and can be sized independently.

Excellent, It's always the simple things, thanks. I had thought of renaming each stl file before dragging onto the PrusaSlicer bed. I thought just dragging the same stl would replace the first, but evidently not.

Thank you.

I think you can do that, unless I misunderstood your question...

So,if you split the items into parts you can individually size the objects.  I just did a test.  I imported an item, made two copies.  Resized all to 50 %.  then if you right click them you will see a submenu item "set as separate objects".  this separates them to their own items.  Then you can select one and resize it.  See example pics attached...
