Safe way to move the print bed in the Y direction

I recently got my first 3D printer  (an MKS3+) and I am wondering about the recommended way to move the print bed. I know that the extruder can easily be moved in the Z direction by pressing the knob for a few seconds, but I don't see any similar function for moving the print bed in the Y direction. Can the stepper motors be damaged if I move the print bed by hand? The reason I'm asking is because I wipe the steel sheet with IPA after each print (to improve adhesion), and sometimes the print bed has been awkwardly positioned.

The X and Y axes adjustments are buried a little deeper in the menus - but it's safe to move the Y axis, slowly, by hand.  If the screen flickers, slow down a little more.

Cheerio,

Cheerio,

Good to know, thanks! By the way, does anyone know the gcodes for MKS3+ to move the extruder to the top (centered in the X direction) and the bed to the front? Would be nice to add this to the SD card, as a shortcut to get things set up for easy cleaning of the nozzle and bed.

All of my printers are connected to Octoprint so most of the time I move the axis with the control therein.  But if you look deeper in the menu, perhaps under settings, I don't have my printer on right now, you'll find a move axis menu where you can select which axis to move and by how much at a time.

As @diem says, you can move it by hand, but only if the stepper motors are unlocked, otherwise you have to fight them.  Also as he says move them slowly so you aren't using your servos as generators and back feed the MB.

Cheers

you could try

M104 S210 ; HEAT EXTRUDER TO 210 C
G90 ; use absolute coordinates
G28 W ; home all without mesh bed level
G1 X125 Y210 Z210 ;MOVE AXIS
