Replacing My Hotend: Einsy Plug and Sockets Confusion (Post 1)
I am replacing my hotend - the original one has got melted filament all over it; my fault, I had taken the hotend apart and had not screwed in the nozzle correctly and melted filament escaped the heatblock, a lot of filament. So now I have a new hotend in hand and therefore need to disconnect the heatblock wiring (i.e. the thermistor and heat cartridge) from the circuit board in the Einsy. I haven't yet cut thru any wire ties. But I have unplugged what I think is the thermistor - see photo 1. I think that this must be the plug for the thermistor because it looks exactly like the thermistor plug on the new hotend i.e. one black wire, one red wire and the same yellow and blue/green striped collar.
But as soon as it was unplugged I noticed two identical side by side sockets, both empty and I can not be certain which socket I pulled the plug from. And I only pulled the one plug, so one of the sockets must have already been empty. But which one? Time for another photo but I cannot figure out how to attach more than one photo and also cannot figure out how to do an inline photo here so now I'll have to create Post 2. Please join me there.

You can publish photos here with "Add Media" (even several in a row).

Thanks for joining me here in Post 2. The attached photo shows the two empty sockets - I cannot be sure which one I pulled the thermistor plug from. But, I thought, I'll look at the assembly instructions and all will be explained! But if you'll now join me in Post 3 you will see why I am even more confused than I was before looking at the assembly instructions.

Thanks for joining me here in Post 3 for the LAST photo. The attached photo is from the Prusa assembly instructions. The printed instructions and the photo seem to show that the thermistor plug goes into the socket to the left of the two empty sockets. But that socket is occupied by a plug which has two black wires and a green collar with an 'H' on it - you can see it in photo 1. It does not look like the thermistor plug on the new replacement hotend!
If you have stuck with me through all three photos and the explanation of my confusion I thank you very much even if you can't offer any help. But if anyone can help me figure out which socket is for the thermistor I will be very grateful.
Thanks, Bob

Thank you very much Karl-Herbet!! When I saw "thermistor" on the Prusa assembly instructions' photo I just assumed that it was the thermistor I was focused on. It never occurred to me that it could be the other thermistor. I hadn't seen the photo you included in your post before.
And thanks very much again for the help with "Add Media". I had noticed it and looked at the dialog but it just wasn't clear to me where the photos would end up. I never noticed the blue button in the lower righthand corner.
Thanks very much!!! Bob
