Replace PSU

PSU died after warranty. I'm not electrical, know a little. I bought a Mean Well LRS-350-24 PSU. Anyone have any detail info to send me how to replace wiring? Can I use old wires and power plug?

RE: Replace PSU

That looks quite a bit different then the original.  There appears to be a manual switch recessed in the side to flip input voltage (make sure that is right or bad thing will happen).  There are three pairs of V+ and V- instead of two on the original (not a big deal, but you have to be double careful you wire it up right.  It does not look like it will mount to the frame the same way, so you'll have to figure something out.  Not a big deal, but I also don't see an obvious power switch.

The big potential cause for concern I see is that it does not look like it take a standard plug for input.  It looks like a power cord has to be hard wired to the the 3-right most screw terminals.  And that area should really be fully enclosed to prevent a serious shock hazard.  Something like https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/10432-prusa-mk3-mean-well-lrs-350-specific-mount should help with that.

RE: Replace PSU

It might help put labels on the cables before you remove any.  🙂   I believe this is the mapping from old to new with screws numbered from left to right in both cases.

Orig -> New
1 --> 1
2 --> 2
3 --> 4
4 --> 5

you'll also need to add new connections from a power cord to the right-most 3 screws

Ground --> 7
Neutral --> 8
Line --> 9

BTW, if you don't have tools to add spade terminals to the end of a power cord, you can get power cords with them already attached.  See https://protosupplies.com/product/ac-to-spade-terminal-power-cord/ for example.  That'll be a better contact then trying to wrap the bare wire around the screws.  At that URL, one of the pictures even shows the wiring to a similar model power supply.  (Those colors might be specific to US power cords.)
