Rattling Y-axis
Hey hey!
I finished my i3 mk3 (first ever printer and first assembly). No issues whatsoever, print quality is excellent and everything went smooth as hell.
The only thing that annoys me to no end is a rattling sound of metal-to-metal from the Y-axis when printing. It's not very loud, but it *is* very annoying. It does, however, go away completely when I press my finger slightly (not hard at all) on the front U-bolt on the double bearing side while printing. Is this rattle a product of the U-bolt being slightly too loose making the bearing rattle against the U-bolt?
I realize I might have answered my own question, but I want to be sure it's not a common issue with another fix, as I'm pretty much a noob at this stuff.

Alright, so I managed to figure out what was wrong! I figured posting the solution here might help someone else. 🙂
One of the smooth rods was not completely straight when I measured the distance between the rods on both sides: the front side was 170mm between the left rod center to the right rod center (as is by design) and the back side was about 168-169mm center-to-center. After I figured out that the back side was uneven, I started measuring each rod seperately to figure out which rod was being a douche. Turns out the left rod (seen from the front) was the culprit.
I corrected it by releasing the screws on the rod seat in the back and pressing my finger against it in the direction that would make the two smooth rods completely paralell to each other, tightened the screws again, measured it up and found it to be right this time around! After some testing, the rattling is now completely gone.

I have tried your method but sadly I still have Y axis noise. Looks like loose bearings to me. Have contacted support.
