Rattling during XYZ calibration
I recently changed a couple of things on my printer. I've had it for a week and it's been doing fine. Due to some advice from a friend after he saw the layers on the print, I tried tightening the x axis belt. I also took the chance to do some other quick maintenance. I removed the power supply from the frame (since I'm using an enclosure) and I replaced it with a support in https://www.prusaprinters.org/cheap-simple-3d-printer-enclosure/ . The final thing I did was clean off some cat hair from the rods and put a little bit of 3-in-one general purpose oil to replace any I rubbed off (the enclosure should prevent any more airborne cat hair from getting into the printer).
When running through calibration now, I get a bit of noise including a rattling sound.
I've gone through what I could think of that has changed - checking bolts and checking the zipties I replaced. But I also can't pinpoint where the rattling is coming from. When any individual axis is moving, I don't hear any problems (either by hand or earlier in the calibration). Any ideas on what I could look into next?

I just tried doing a quick print. The noise might be easier to hear in this video:

fairly normal, I am guessing that it ignores stealth/speed/acceleration during this process.
I would tear down your Y axis first, lube bearings from the inside and make sure the bearing races are properly aligned.

Re: Rattling during XYZ calibration
Thanks for the suggestion! In the process of taking apart my y axis, I found out that one of the bearings there went bad. If I put the bearing on the rod, I have to push it to move it anywhere. It doesn't slide on it's own. That's probably causing at least some of my problems.
Re: Rattling during XYZ calibration
did you accidentally over tighten the U bolt?
I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Location Halifax UK
Re: Rattling during XYZ calibration
I tried to be careful about that. But, it was my first time putting a 3d printer together. So, yeah, there is a chance that I did. I don't know why it would take a couple of weeks to start causing problems though.
