PTFE tube when to replace

Hi

What are signs that a PTFE tube needs replacement, I recently had a clogged nozzle stripped the hotend cleaned all out and at the same time just replaced the PTFE tube seeing that I might as well do it. But looking at the PTFE tube I removed it still looks fine to my untrained eyes, or what should one look at on the tube to see if it is defective indeed or what tell tales are there when printing

Thanks

The only obvious damage visible without removing it - if you are removing it you may as well replace it anyway - the only obvious damage is a bent, torn, or frayed top end.  Repeated loading of sharp ended filaments does eventually wear it out.  In my experience 4000 - 6000 hours is the expected life with ordinary filaments, it might be shorter with abrasive filament.

Cheerio,
