PTFE Tube Blocking Bondtech Gear

I finished assembling my mk3 and got several great prints. However, I recently started getting print failures. I tried different PLA, but it didn't help. Then I started hearing a clicking noise from the extruder. After that, I was unable to load/unload filament. I opened the side door and noticed the ptfe tube has somehow backed up into the bondtech gear and jammed it. Anybody else deal with this? Is there any fix for this aside from disassembling and reassembling the whole printer again? Will I need to get a new PTFE tube? Thanks for any advice.

Hi James, the PTFE doesn't seem to be that far out.

the first layer on the gear looks to be very bad, i believe this is either poor Live Z adjustment (nozzle too low) , or over extrusion,

Are you sure you used the correct profile for slicing the file? if your nozzle diameter doesn't match your expected nozzle diameter when slicing, you could get a result like this and both issues can cause clicking!

The PTFE tube is touching the bondtech gear. I know the motor is good because I can spin the shaft from the control panel. However, I cannot spin the gear, not even by hand.

The first layer is really bad in that print. Previously, the same print got half way through before failing, but I didn't take a picture because I assumed it was something minor like z-adjust. It wasn't until I heard clicking and then could not load filament that I realized something worse had happened.

PTFE should not be physically jamming into Bondtech gear.
You'll need to pull the hot end and seat the teflon tube all the way down. (Beware the fragile hot end wires)

I don't understand how you can spin the extruder motor, but not move the Bondtech gear. They won't spin independently if grub screws are secure.

My PTFE is taller than that, and the Bondtech gears shaved away the PTFE that was in the way!

I think I figured it out. The set screw had come slightly loose, which caused it to slip. A very tiny piece of plastic then wedged into between the gear and the bracket. The motor would have moved it easily, but it provided just enough resistance that I thought it was jammed. After pulling the assembly apart and tightening down the screw everything seems to be working again.
