PrusaSlicer vs MK3S - Orientation

What I was seeing in the slicer agreed with what I was seeing in Fusion360.  But what I saw printing was not what I saw in the slicer.  I'll attach the slicer screen shot here and the photo of what was printing in the following post.  I recognize that what was printing was probably the right thing, but with an axis confusion/re-orientation.  What might I have done wrong?

Thanks,  Bob

Nope thats what I would expect from your preview picture.

Notice the skirt in brown ?  If you scroll down to the first layer you will find only part of your object is 'flat' to the bed.  As such your first layer is small and the skirt surrounds only that first layer.  The rest of your object will be printing in mid air.  So wont print properly.

Id check your part orientation.  Either use the place to face tool or rotate it manually.  I suspect your fusion model id a fraction of a degree off zero.  Sometime the place to face tool has trouble with small deviations like that so sometimes if it doesnt appear to work its worth placing on a totally opposite face and then back to the one you actually want.

Anyway thats what I suspect is happening.  If you save your project as a .3mf file and then zip up that 3mf  and attach it here we can confirm that.  (Must zip it up or the forum doesn't accept the file type).

@bobg

If only every issue was as easily fixed 🙂  Anyway glad you got it.  Don't worry most people pick the basics up quickly.

Remember the preview is your friend.  Its well worth checking it from multiple angles as you scroll through the layers and picking up the meaning of the feature colours.  It can save you lots of time with failed prints and waste of filament.
