PrusaSlicer no supports generated
Hi,
I installed PrusaSlicer then attached my model from Sketchup. Added generate supports option. Wow nothing happens in preview.
Model attached in post. What's wrong? :O
RE: PrusaSlicer no supports generated
The reason is that no supports are required for this model. Bridges will handle all the unsupported parts and so the slicer doesn't see a need to create supports. If you want supports inside the box, then unselect Print settings → Support material → Don't support bridges.
Support enforcers will only create supports where the other rules allow them.
RE: PrusaSlicer no supports generated
Thanks man. It works now. Do you think that bridges will handle it enough without supports? I care about those top layers to be correctly printed. I mean I would like to not have roof deflection.
RE: PrusaSlicer no supports generated
It may require a bit of dialling in to find the best settings for your filament, but yes, you should be able get a good looking part even without supports. It'll take a few tries, though, as is usual with FDM 3d printing. Supports will make it all easier at the cost of spending some time with pliers to remove them.
RE: PrusaSlicer no supports generated
I will use Prusament black Galaxy. Anyway thanks for noticing "it may take few tries". I'll go with supports. I dont want to print it more than once 😀
With supports it looks like:
I'll go for print now. Thanks for help
RE: PrusaSlicer no supports generated
In Plicer - there is a setting for Don't Support Bridges. The default is Enabled (no support for bridges).
And support enforcers, well, my experience with them will put supports in places the rules won't allow them; and can only be used when auto-generated supports are disabled.
