RE: Prusa radial fan (filament cooler) - better replacement
But the fan is mounted vertically on stock Prusa Mini, what's the benefit?

This is the MK3 section; I thought that's what we were talking about.

You're totally right, sorry for the confusion!
My mistake
RE: Prusa radial fan (filament cooler) - better replacement
So, another year past, and i have used about 4 prusa-fans.
I decided to go "china" awhile ago and purchased a fysetc fan, which is now in use, since my last prusa fan was broken again.
I took the time to open it up and have a look inside:
As i suspected: a sleeve "bearing" (not an actual bearing). Which is the cheapest of the cheapest.
I now ordered a few from china, which supposed to have real dual bearings, which will take some time to get here (tempted to open one up)
I also ordered some LDO's, which will be sent in a couple of weeks.
And i ordered 2 Sunon fans, which are hard to find and don't have enough punch, but will take a chance, since the fysetc is also not really a power king.
Maybe i'll order some more original prusa fans, but....
Anyone else found good ones?

Please keep us up to date! I'll also buy some of aliexpress..
So sad that nocuta does not make any of them.
RE: Prusa radial fan (filament cooler) - better replacement
Update:
I finally found some that are actually INSANELY good. Well, my order is prestine and perfect! No rattle at all.
They are from FYSTEC (Modelnumber: 05B5015H - Ball Bearing)
DC5V with 0.35A
And pretty cheap!
Quality is from another world.
Compared the original prusa one with mine from aliexpress and the latter one is alot more powerful.
RE:
The LDO are actually quite good. They have real bearings and blow alot of air.
However, they are loud!
And very hard to get here.
I now use some cheap chinese ones (Pengda) which seem to work fine.
I will order some of those Fysetc, this time with bearings.
I expected the most from the Sunons, but they don't blow enough air, and rattle when moving sideways.
RE: Prusa radial fan (filament cooler) - better replacement
Got this Fysetc installed and they're good!
However, they spin alot faster and make quite some noise. I now print at 70% fanspeed, which seems to work fine.
