Prusa I3 MK3 extrusion issues

i wanna start off by saying it hate my I3.

once i assembled this it printed like a dream, after a couple months of light printing the extruder started to eat my filament.

ive tried every brand of filament under the sun and it still has issue.

what will happen is the extruder will stop spitting out filament and eat away the sides of the filament and ill have to unload the filament, and readjust the extruder and load it back.

ive taken it apart many time and cleaned the bondo gears and made sure everything was as it should be based off the guide.

i bought this since they were supposed to be top of the line but my friends $200 ebay printer is working better than my I3.

has anybody had these issues on their I3 MK3 and do yall have any suggestions?

all i have been printing is PLA and have printed the self watering flower pot a couple times and thats it. firmware is at the latest.

Re: Prusa I3 MK3 extrusion issues

Without knowing more details it could be two things. 1: the nozzle could have some build up inside. Kick it up to 280c , disable steppers and push some filament through. See if it flows through, or if crap comes out, or if it wont flow at all. 2) You could have your idler gear screwed down too tight. That would put too much grab on the filament and keep it from feeding correctly.

Also check to make sure the idler is rotating freely. If the shaft shifts, it can drag and cause problems. Do some cold pulls for good measure.
