Pronterface Will Not Connect

I recently upgraded my MK3 to the RC2 firmware. The printer has worked well with no issues with this firmware. However, when I load Pronterface and try to connect to the printer, the part cooling fan spins up and then stops but Pronterface doesn't indicate that a connection has been made.

I downgraded back to 3.1.3 firmware and Pronterface still will not connect. Same symptoms are present - Click <Connect>, part cooling fan spins up and then stops.

Any suggestions?

No help to offer, but I'm running into the exact same issue with the same symptoms. Any progress since your post?

Have you tried upgrading the firmware to 3.7.2? And if you have, double check that you have com3 selected.

have you tried turning off the internal raspberry pi interface on the LCD menu's?
this stops the USB port accessing the the printer management interface.
