Problems with nozzle or hotend, what to do?
Changing the nozzle is a very difficult process indeed - just for reference I found building my mk3s from kit a fairly straightforward and easy process.
I think that changing a nozzle about 6 months ago has potentially resulted in a bit of a mess, however I don't know exactly what the root cause is, nor the best way forward.
I am thinking that I will need to replace the entire hotend here. However it could be that just a good clean and attaching the nozzle again will suffice.
What do you think?
Changing the nozzle is reasonably easy as long as you have a thin 17mm spanner and a 7mm spanner. It's also the root of your problem, you have a wrongly tightened nozzle (or, just possibly, a cheap clone with the wrong length thread.)
Pay particular attention to the diagrams at the bottom of this page:

Cheerio,
RE: Problems with nozzle or hotend, what to do?
Oh I have been all over that page, and the video at the end. It's nonsense as far as I can tell.
You'll see a comment I left on there 5 years ago, saying that the MK3S doesn't work anything like the video/instructions.
There's nowhere to grip, the PINDA is in the the way, it's far to easy to over or undertighten, there's no space...
In any case, I think my question more is what is recommended to do now. I could a) simply remove the nozzle and try to "tighten it again properly", but with all the gunk in there, will that work?
I could try to remove the heatblock and clean everything, although how I would get everything off I don't know, as nothing worked last time I tried (300c heatgun, acetone bath etc...)
Or do I have to replace the whole hot-end?
RE: Problems with nozzle or hotend, what to do?
BTW: I don't mean that the instructions for how to get the components correctly lined up and properly adjusted are nonsense, just that the process for doing this cannot be easily followed like the video shows. It can be at least a 90 minute process, with great risk of breaking things, and then ends up with the mess that I have anyway.... On the original Mk3 it was much easier, as shown in the video, but not on the Mk3S...
In any case, still not sure if I should replace the whole lot or not.
