problems setting the X-belt

hi, after some unexpected crashes that arrive when I am about to print in the calibration phase of the bed, I found that there is a problem with the belt.

reading the guide https://help.prusa3d.com/article/adjusting-belt-tension-mk3-mk3s-mk3s-mk4_112380

"You want the number between 260 and 290 (275~). The lower the number, the tighter the belt is."

I understand that the X-belt is very tight but if I touch the belt with my hands I can see that instead it is very loosen even comparing it with the Y belt.

I tried, also following the new procedure indicated, pinching the belt to record the vibration, to screw at maximum and minimum the side screw to stretch (screwing) or loosen (unscrewing) but I can not solve. By doing the belt test I always get a voltage value ranging from 160-215, a value that is unstable and that causes continuous crashes.

How can I fix the X belt?

thanks in advance

The belt tension figure is a measure of the resistance felt by the stepper when moving the axis. On a correctly set up machine this does equate, roughly, to belt tension.

But other things can affect mechanical resistance.

First, with the power off, move the axis by hand; is it smooth? Does the resistance stay the same over the whole range?

Clean and lubricate the smooth rods, check they are not damaged/scratched. Check the idler pulley is not clogged, out of line, or damaged (loosen the belt and try turning it with your fingertip, is it smooth?)

With the belt loose try turning the stepper motor by hand; is it smooth?

Retighten the belt until it just begins to make a low musical note when plucked...

If the printer works, make your next print this:

https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/46639-tension-meter-for-the-gt2-belts-of-i3-mk3s-or-prus

It MUST be printed in Prusament PETG or the spring tension will be wrong.

Let us know how you get on.

Cheerio,

thanks for the answer, I will try to apply your advice.
I always moved the extruder from the setting move x axis command.
If I move it by hand I feel a certain resistance in the belt.
