Printing MF: Onyx. Need advise on upgrades
Hi.... I've been printing onyx for the last week or so with varying success. Printing with this stuff requires higher temps and i would like to upgrade the hotend but I'm unsure of the parts I need. Basically i want to make this printer be able to handle high temps with no worries. I wont be printing onyx exclusively but when i do, i dont wanna have something melt or worse. I've been reading a bunch of threads and I've learned I need to get a titanium heatbreak, a nickleplated copper heatsink and a hardened steel nozzle. I've already purchased a .6mm is nozzle and I bought a garolite build surface. Im hoping to purchase the upgrades this week provided these questions can be addressed. My questions and the issues I need help with are this...
1. I have the bondtech extruder upgrade already. Will buying these upgrades fit in the bondtech?
2. If they DO fit, will the higher temps that the upgraded hotend will produce effect the sls plastic the bondtech is made of? Like will it melt or distort? I've seen a hardened steel gear for the bondtech. Should I get that as well?
3. I've also seen heating elements and there is a 40w one available. Prusa come with a 30w. Should I get one of these as well? Do I have to change firmware for that to work?
4. Is there anything else I should get that I haven't mentioned?
I have my printer in an enclosure so I think im good on that front. Any help is greatly appreciated. I also have some test prints I've made using this onyx filament printed on my prusa and one printed on a markforged printer if anyone is interested...
