Printer reboots when heating starts
Hi,
I printed some parts with PETG and with the last one there was an issue with the filament feed and the printer stopped detecting a crash.
After unloading and loading the filament the printer doesn‘t work anymore as he is restarting when the heating is started. The same when I try to preheat.
I have the latest firmware 3.13.3 on my i3 Mk3s.
Many thanks for any suggestion
Paul
RE: Printer reboots when heating starts
Do you see any error message on the display before it reboots? Have you powered down with the switch and given it at least 30 seconds to drain the caps before turning it back on?
If after a power cycle it still happens check the voltage from the power supply. A common reason for an MB to restart is if the power drops below threshold. Also, check your connections to/from the PSU and the heat cartridge and the heat bed, if they're loose that could cause it to over or under draw. If the PSU connections are loose you could get a current drop, if the heaters are loose it could cause an over draw, apparently you're not over drawing to pop a fuse though.
Cheers

Hi,
thanks for the hints. No error message as the reboot happens instant. I will check all connections and report back.
tnx

Check that the wires on the hotend heater arent touching, thats the main reason for printer to reboot when pre heating also check bed connections at einsy and on heat bed
Please help me out by downloading a model it's free and easy but really helps me out https://www.printables.com/@Hello_474427/models

Hi,
indeed the wires touched each other - this fixed the problem. There is white powder coming out of the heater. Normal behaviour?
