Printer printing 20mm too far to the right vs Prusaslicer?
Hi all,
Strange one - after 1000+ prints, my MK3S has started printing prints offset around 20mm too far to the right on the x axis vs what I see in Prusaslicer.
Everything works perfectly apart from that, but obviously large prints it starts to print off the right side of the bed and there's always a wasted 20mm strip down the left side!
Any ideas where to look for a fix here? I can't decide if it's some odd setting in Prusaslicer, MK3S firmware, Octoprint etc?
RE: Printer printing 20mm too far to the right vs Prusaslicer?
Sounds like its detecting X home too far out from the end stop. Usually caused by some obstruction on the left side of the printer. Check your cable bundle is not hitting anything etc. Check the axis moves smoothly when the stepper is powered off. Other things like fitting extra fan shrouds to the extruder fan can also effect the homing of X, you haven't fitted anything have you ?
Basically when the extruder moves left and hits the side it causes a spike of current, that is detected and treated as an endstop. So that's where it thinks X=0 is. You have anything that causes a stop/spike in a different place and it will determine 0 to be there instead.

Ah, good suggestions - no all stock basically, but good thoughts, I'll have a poke around tonight and see if I can spot anything obvious!
