Print Fan Error

I was having a hard time with my printer and discovered that the print fan was not working. I checked the connections to the controller board and it is good so I assumed the fan had failed. so I replaced it. No luck, I still get the print fan error. Any ideas on how I can fix it?

Thanks,

Gale

One thing I noticed is that the cable for the print fan does have a fairly significant point of strain when it is bundled with the other cables in the extruder.  I'm sure this was the cause when I started getting occasional print fan errors.  Be sure that on your new fan you route it carefully so it does not get pinched and break.

Thanks for the tip, but after I installed the new fan and it didn't work I detached the connector at the board and applied 5v to the connector contacts and the fan worked. So it is looking like I have a problem with the board.

I can't find the link to support, where should I be looking?

Thanks,

Keep in mind that the fan will not spin up until the second layer of some (most?) prints.

To get to support chat (I have not used it) go to the Eshop and be sure you are logged in.  If you can't find it you can email [email protected]

I know, but I'm getting a "Print Fan Error" and the print stops.

Thanks, I'll email support. I wonder if it will print if I detach the connect and attach an external 5v power supply?

@mr-gale

What firmware are you using? I still work with the 3.8.1 and had after the installation of the 3.9.2 also constantly a "printfan error" although the hardware is in order. Prusa seems to have changed something in the settings. With the 3.8.1 everything runs perfectly.
Often a factory reset and reinstallation of the firmware helps. Maybe you try it also once with different versions https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/releases

Maybe you will find a solution this way - good luck!
