Print fan dead? What other parts should I have on hand?

So have had my last two prints fail with a print fan error:

https://help.prusa3d.com/en/article/err-print-fan-error_2159

Setting the fan to 255 I get an RPM which is often sub 1000 so I believe it's just died and I need a new one.

Problem is I'm in New Zealand and the bottom of the world and so shipping makes me not want to just order a single fan  (shipping is $30 for a $7 fan). I found a local seller, who is charging $30 for the same part so not excited about giving them my business either.

Given that I want to minimise my shipping what other parts would make sense to have a spare of? Is there another option for sourcing the print fan?

Slightly odd, they usually die completely...

Two things to try:

Clean the fan, both sides of the blades - use a stiff paintbrush - and the hub; in particular fine sections of stringing can get into the bearing and slow things down, you may need to use a needle and a magnifying glass to tease it out.

Lubricate the fan, iIrc you can get to the back of the hub by peeling back a sticker, use a single drop of light oil.

Cheerio,

There is an option in the control panel to disable fan checks.  Be careful what you ask for, if you set it!  😉

As far as what parts to have on hand, I have a 'crash kit' for the Prusa that has things like a couple lengths of drive belt, a complete spare hot end, an Einsy board, the spare hardware from the assembly, hex keys, nozzle wrenches, acupuncture needles, and printed parts for the extruder in the event I have a blob of doom and a meltdown.
